Where CoinTracker wins
Three things, plainly. It produces tax reports and we do not. It has a full-service tier where its people do the reconciliation for you, which is a real product for a real problem and nothing we offer resembles it. And it has mobile apps, on the free tier, which is the single most common thing people ask us for and the most honest "no" we give.
Its integration count is larger too. The counter on its integrations page read 630 when we checked. Breadth is theirs.
Read the table, not the card
CoinTracker's plans page says two different things about what free includes. The free plan card advertises a portfolio value, self-serve support and a tax summary. The comparison table further down the same page marks "portfolio tracking" and "performance tracking" as not included on free.
We are not going to resolve that for them, and we are not going to quote only the unflattering half. What we can say is what it means for you: on CoinTracker free you can expect a current portfolio value and a tax summary, no tax forms, and you should check the comparison table for anything beyond that before you invest an afternoon in importing.
Our free tier is one sentence and it is the whole sentence: 2 exchanges, 5 wallets, one account per exchange, and nothing withheld inside them.

What the price is attached to
CoinTracker prices per subscription year, and every tier is published as "starting at", which means the number you plan around and the number you pay are not guaranteed to be the same. The published ladder runs from $59 to $3,499.
Pro here is $12.99 a month or $120 a year, and that is the amount, not a floor. It buys live auto-syncing, exports, alerts, the advisor layer, several accounts on the same exchange, and unlimited connections. It does not buy a tax report.
Which one to use
Use CoinTracker if you want taxes filed, want the option of handing the mess to someone else, or need the tracker in your pocket. Those are good reasons and we have no counter to any of them.
Use us if the question is where the money went. 11 exchanges and 52 chains reconstructed into one history, transfers between your own accounts matched rather than counted as sales, and every method we use published in public so you can argue with it.
We would rather you read our own limits before you trust a page where we chose the comparison. No downloadable tax reports, no live DeFi position valuation, minimal NFT support, no mobile app, and history that stops where each exchange API stops: what WhereItGoes does not do
